September 20, 2024. We had a great time on the trail Friday hiking the Johnson Ranch Loop just south of SLO. It is one of our softest hikes on the Hardness Scale, and the attendance of 15 hikers proved that the easier hikes are the most popular. We had 5 new folks join us to “kick the tires”. One found it too easy, one too hard, and three found it in the “Goldilocks” category. Best of all, we had 5 girls join us! It is always more fun when the ladies come along. We covered 3.9 miles in 2 hrs 37 min taking time to enjoy the sights and history along the way. The elevation change was 319 feet with a maximum elevation of 381 feet. The total of all the UP waypoints was 696 feet.
