Our next hike will be on Friday, September 18th at 8:30 AM in Morro Bay.  We will hike East from the coast past an old quarry to the eastern-most boundary of the preserve.  From there South West toward a hill which we will summit and circle.  This is a very interesting trip with some spectacular views.  Although this hike is shorter than the last to Whale Rock (3.5 miles vs 4.3), I rank it as Medium Difficulty with an cumulative elevation change of about 800 feet.  We lack the detail data to run the HHI program, and will get it on the coming trip.

TO GET THERE. Take LOVR (Los Osos Valley Road) to Los Osos and then right onto E. Bay Blvd.  (See Map Below).  Continue 2.6 miles to the trailhead parking lot on the right.  NOTE: This is the larger Quarry Trail parking area, not the small Park Ridge one.  To add to the confusion, the Quarry Trail lot is also known as the Cerro Cabrillo Trail Parking Lot.
