Baring unforeseen circumstances, RAM Hikes occur on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.  Our next hike will be on February 6th up Stenner Creek Trail to the Euks. This hike was inspired by a suggestion made by Bill Rumbler.  As Russ researched it, he realized he had done it back in February 2022 with the RAMs lead by Bob Mott.  To confirm the trail conditions, Russ and Bill Sisler hiked the trail on Friday, January 9th.  It is a beautiful hike through trees and past water falls and streams.  We cross railroad tracks and you can sit on the bench pictured below next to Bill Sisler to enjoy the views of the Nine Sisters Mountain Range.  This is a 4 mile hike taking about 2 1/2 hours.  Elevation Change 616 feet, Total UP waypoints 931 feet, Max Elevation 1189 feet.  This hike falls in the SOFT hardness category

 

TO GET THERE.  Take Hwy 1 out of SLO toward Morro Bay.  After passing the Highland Drive entrance to Cal Poly take the next Right onto Stenner Creek Road.  See the map below.  The exit is not well marked.  Follow the road staying on the most traveled portions until you come to the gate pictured below.  The gate is the trail head; park there.
