Back in early June, when summer was starting, we circumnavigated Madonna.  We started at the Marsh Street tailhead.  For October 23rd, we are going to start the hike from the Laguna Lake Dog Park.  The Parking is a lot easier and although the eventual elevation change is the same, the start is less grueling.  At Laguna the trail is longer but less steep.  Because of the longer approach trail, the total mileage is 5.7 miles versus 4.6 miles.  I am allowing 3 3/4 hours.  Estimated HHI is 35 which makes it comparable to the Panorama Trail and Serenity Swing.  A less strenuous option which is confirmed some of us will take, takes only the lower loop on the map below.  It reaches the bottom of Madonna and turns around.
