On Friday, September 4th the crew hiked the Eastern path along the shore of Whale Rock Reservoir in Cayucos--which we were pleased to see remains pretty much frozen in time.   We met a ranger on the trail who said he drives the road about once a week.  He filled in a few missing parts in our story.  We walked 4.3 miles against a plan of 4.2  Crazy accurate!  Even more amazing is that when comparing the hike difficulty,  HHI was 18.54 against 18.33 last time. Easy, but not too easy with a 387 feet cumulative elevation change.  Two hours 30 minutes on the dot.  A little humid but otherwise a great day to hike.

And last but not least, we were very pleased to be joined by four (4) girls on the trip.  Barbara's older sister Patty joined us visiting from out of state.  Lorraine was back.  Also Lynn, a guest of Bill Erickson.
