On Friday, August 1st 2025 we hiked Cerro San Luis from the Laguna Dog Park. When we arrived at 8:30 AM, the lot was pretty full of cars, many belonging to dog owners. They have a great restroom facility on site, but like the ones along the highway, it was closed. We also had to climb over a very substantial gate across this popular public use trail.

We hiked 4.6 miles in three hours. Max elevation was 1254 feet. Elevation Change 1135 feet. Total of UP waypoints 1200 feet. We were passed on the way up by a rank of fire fighters carrying 50 pound ruck sacks. This was clearly a "forced march". We were also passed by a group of Madonna Guest horses. Most importantly, a good time was had by all. Don't forget you can enlarge the pictures on a mobile device by touching and spreading your fingers.

Thanks to Barb as usual for all the great pictures. PS for Lorraine: Notice on the northerly oriented satellite view below, the trees are on the North side of the hill.
