We hiked the La Cuesta Ranch Trail just West of Cuesta Grade today (7-18-25).  It was our first time for this hike, and it worked out really well.  We opted to use the trailhead closest to the 101 exit because we believe it was longer but less steep.  The time to the halfway point went faster than expected so we decided to extend the planned 2.4 mile hike to 3 miles.  We were glad we did for a whole list of reasons---the best of which is that we discovered a tree swing that had recently been installed.  Barbara volunteered to give it a try and Russ filmed the 4.5 minute event which is a must see:  MOVIE

We started out at 8:30 AM as planned and finished right on schedule at 10:30 AM.  Max elevation 1073; elevation change 453 feet; Total Up waypoints 733 feet.  For future reference this hike falls well within the Soft catagory of the Hardness Scale.  Don't forget that on a mobile device you can expand any of the pictures here by touching and spreading your fingers.
