On Friday, June 5th, 2026 we circumnavigated Madonna Mountain starting at the Marsh Street trailhead.  The number of hikers on the trail was less than typically encountered on a hike to the top, but there were a lot more bicyclists only one of which had a bell.  There are two pictures of our group; the first at the start and the second showing all 19 of us with a view in the background of the Madonna wedding gazebo used by his daughters.

We found a swing for Barbara to use and be photographed in.  In the process she "stumbled upon" a little short cut with a more gentle climb that we will incorporate into future hikes.   Also included is a picture of the rock quarry at the base of Bishop Peak now being used to mine rock to repair the landslides up on Hwy 1.

The total hike distance was 3.8 miles and took two hours and 45 minutes. The UP waypoint total was 982 feet with an elevation change of 561 feet.  Maximum elevation 746 feet.
