On January 3rd, 2025 nine RAM hikers climbed Pine Mountain in Atascadero to check on the "mysterious" monolith perched upon it.  The weather and company was great.  Russ, no doubt distracted by the "monolith talk" he delivered, forgot to turn on his recording GPS until we were .3 miles into the hike.  In the electronics business, we call this a "short between the headphones."  Fortunately the track of the prior hike was available and he was able extrapolate a total distance traveled of 2.1 miles, 633 elevation change and a time of 1:41.

Other than the "Carl was here," (which appeared quite recent) and a few STP motor oil decals, the monolith was surprisingly graffiti free.  We stayed right on the planned track. Don't forget that on a mobile device you can zoom in on the pictures by touching and spreading your fingers.
